Ok I setup SNMP on a cisco switch scanned found it and everything is great. I thought this would be easy but it was the only one that worked.
I have a bunch of cisco switches should they be SNMP v3?
I also have some older HP not sure what version I need.

I general do I need to just create a new SNMPV credential and then enter those same creds. in every switch?

SNMP will need to be setup on each switch individually so it SNMP work on one switch and not the other, the credentials on the second switch are probably different.

If you are security conscious, I would make them all SNMPv3.
