We are trying to utilize the software license compliance module. When we add a new license, it will ask you which version of the software. Unfortunately our network is riddled with different versions of the software, so it creates a dozen copies of the same software. Is there any way to consolidate or combine the versions of the software to make life much easier? Then we can import all licenses for the software and not worry about the different versions.

As leanchamp already mentioned in the post above this one, you can use wildcards(%) in both the software name and the software version in the license compliance module under Software\Edit Purchased Licenses in the software tab for each license, as highlighted in the screenshot below. The wildcards used in the screenshot will pick up any MS Office Pro Plus 2010 installations, regardless of language notation behind them, and any version inside 14.0.x.

Hi,

have you tried using a wildcard (%) for the version field? This is explained right next to the "add software" button in the Software License Tracking View.
