Lansweeper scans the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE registry for Windows computers to retrieve license key information except for software publisher Adobe, where Lansweeper pulls additional license keys from .swidtag files on the Windows computer. The list of registry locations Lansweeper already knows can be found under
Software\License Key Settings. There are already a lot of registry locations built into Lansweeper, however, most of them are disabled by default to reduce network traffic. Additionally, you can also search additional registry locations for license keys by clicking on the Add Product Key if you know the registry location within HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE for a product. More information on how Lansweeper views and scans software license keys can be found in
this knowledge base article.
