Good evening, I apologize for any typos, as I am using Google Translate.

What is the correct way to create a user on Oracle Linux so that Lansweeper can collect information?

From what I have researched so far, the user to be created must have administrative privileges, and I did not want to use the root user for this.

I am using version 12.2.0.4

Hi there,

I added the root credential for data collection on an Oracle Linux VM. This virtual machine is on VMware ESXi. I noticed that the data was collected, but I couldn't find any information about the Oracle database installed on this VM.
Would it be necessary to add the database credential for data collection as well?

LS doesn't scan Oracle database

Good afternoon, I hope you are well.

Ok, but I have a question, should it at least inform me that I have the Oracle database installed or not?

But I apologize for any errors in the writing, as I am using Google Translate.

Hi, right now there is a free standalone tool from Lansweeper that helps you to inventory databases.  You can find it in the following link:

https://www.lansweeper.com/resources/free-tools/database-scanner/

Seems like in a future, database inventory may be integrated to the Lansweeepr asset inventory.

Hope this helps.

Try search dbhome

If it's installed through the package manager (rpm), then yes it should pick it up.
