Good evening, I apologize for any typos, as I am using Google Translate.
What is the correct way to create a user on Oracle Linux so that Lansweeper can collect information?
From what I have researched so far, the user to be created must have administrative privileges, and I did not want to use the root user for this.
I am using version 12.2.0.4

Hi there,
I added the root credential for data collection on an Oracle Linux VM. This virtual machine is on VMware ESXi. I noticed that the data was collected, but I couldn't find any information about the Oracle database installed on this VM.
Would it be necessary to add the database credential for data collection as well?

Good afternoon, I hope you are well.
Ok, but I have a question, should it at least inform me that I have the Oracle database installed or not?
But I apologize for any errors in the writing, as I am using Google Translate.

Hi, right now there is a free standalone tool from Lansweeper that helps you to inventory databases. You can find it in the following link:
https://www.lansweeper.com/resources/free-tools/database-scanner/
Seems like in a future, database inventory may be integrated to the Lansweeepr asset inventory.
Hope this helps.

Good afternoon!!!
I hope you are well.
The software worked partially, where it managed to collect the information from the Oracle production database, but it did not read the homologation database.
I did not find a way to export the data so that I could import it into Lansweeper, if that is possible.
And another question is that from what I am checking, Lansweeper is not listing the Oracle database installation, unlike what happens with MYSQL.

Is Oracle Database installed via the package manager? Lansweeper queries rpm/dpkg/etc. for installed software, so if it's outside of that it won't be picked up.

Hello,
I checked with the colleague who installed the production and approval database and the installation was performed using ./ and an Oracle directory was created in the root.
So, since this is the type of installation, LS should not find it, correct?
Note: I am using Google Translate, I apologize for any spelling errors.

If it's installed through the package manager (rpm), then yes it should pick it up.
