Hello I am having an issue with my scan server shutting down. I was wondering what would be the first thing to look at ?

Dear,

I would check first in the Event Viewer logs.
This normally shows when an application or the scanning server stops unexpectedly. 
If it does not provide a clear cause, contact Lansweeper Support, they can provide you further steps on how to troubleshoot.
