Engaged Sweeper

When we configure devices we run a script where a technician enters the computer hostname and the 7digit asset ID from the sticker they put on the physical device.

That 7digit asset ID get's written to the bios, and then within Windows you can run this WMI query to get that 7digit assetID.

(Get-WmiObject win32_SystemEnclosure).smbiosassettag

Does this get included in the Agent discovery or pulled in anywhere in Lansweeper Sites/Cloud?  Either in the summary section, or within the Config>Hardware>Bios section?  Bios information is definitely pulled into the system, but I currently don't see this field as part of it.

If not currently, is there a possibility to add this WMI query to what the Agent currently scans in a future release so it populates for your customers that utilize it?

I've found a good number of posts on your forums from other users asking about this, but most seem to pertain to the on-prem server it seems you could potentially map it to a custom field.  With us being strictly cloud/network discovery I don't see a way to do this ourselves?

At this time, the Win32_SystemEnclosure.SMBIOSAssetTag value is not available anywhere in Lansweeper Sites, whether the data is collected via Network Discovery or the IT Agent. In a Sites‑only / Network Discovery–only setup, there is also no supported method to manually add or map this WMI property yourself. Supporting this would require a product enhancement / feature request.

Based on the current product documentation and the Sites data model, Windows BIOS‑related information that is surfaced in Lansweeper Sites includes items such as:

  • Manufacturer
  • Model
  • Serial number

You could try our Beta feature flow builder to possibly achieve this. More information below:
