Hi,

We're trying to get everything over to SNMPv3 and I've been having difficulty trying to make it work for Ricoh printers.

Here's what I have done, checked or confirmed to be working:

On the printer side:

  • SNMP v3 is on and configured with username, password, SHA1-AES128 with encryption password and prefilled context name.
  • Using Paessler SNMP tester 23.3.87.552 I can query a custom OID that reads the total printed pages and it works with all the above configured credentials.

On Lansweeper side:

  • Configured the scanning targets and custom OID to scan. When I turn on SNMPv1/2 I can see the custom OID appear. But when I deactivate SNMP1 and 2 and turn on SNMPv3 on the printer. Lansweeper cannot scan the target.
  • I used the Device tester from Lansweeper and it works only on SNMP1,2 and when I only enable SNMPv3, I get this result:
    Scanning SNMP..
       SNMP disabled or wrong community
    Scanning SNMP for custom OID's..
       Valid connection: True
       Stopped: No SysObjectId found

At first I thought the OID was the issue, but the same OID works when I test it with Paessler tester SNMPv3.
What could be the issue here?

This is weird, I replied twice to your comment Frank but after a reload. the posts are gone.

But anyways, I have submitted in a ticket.
And I do get a value repsonse if I query OID 1.3.6.1.2.1.1.2.0

@CCC my apologies, it seems your replies were mistakenly  caught in our spam filter, I have now released the most recent one.  Thank you for your patience, and have a great weekend!

Dear,
As mentioned in the KB article below, Lansweeper needs the system OID 1.3.6.1.2.1.1.2.0, to complete the SNMP scan. Is that OID available on the printer?
If it is and the issue persists, please contact Lansweeper Suppor for this. There are a few Ricoh printers for which we've seen similar issues. If possible, we'd like to get additional information about the printer for our further investigation.

Hi Frank,

I do get a response with a value If I query OID 1.3.6.1.2.1.1.2.0.
The response seems to be another OID, which when queried it doesnt return a value because it doesnt exist.
The response value is: 1.3.6.1.4.1.367.1.1

I will send in a ticket via support and see where we will land.

Thanks!
