We are a Lan Sweeper Support Company and have been using the application for nearly 4 years and really like the asset inventory aspect of Lan Sweeper. Two questions:

1. Is there a way to completely turn off the Helpdesk function in Lansweeper 6.0? I do not need nor do I want this functionality.

2. When adding users to view inventoried assets, there is a requirement to do this on an individual basis – whatever happened to using Active Directory Groups? For me this is clearly a step backwards.

Thank you.

1. The help desk can be disabled under Configuration\General Settings, as taeratrin mentioned as well.
2. At the moment, user roles can only be assigned to individual users, but development will be adding an option to assign roles to Active Directory user groups as well, within the next few weeks.

Thank you so much - that did it!

You'll have to either give yourself a role which has the Access Asset Management permission, or add an AD group to which you belong to such a role. You can do this on the Configuration -> User Access & Roles page.

We use Lansweeper for inventory and actions (and deployment of updates now that I've figured that out!!) but we already have a Helpdesk provider we *just* switched to and are not looking to make any other changes in that direction. But when I open LS and logon as anything other than Built-in Admin, I get the Helpdesk page and have not figured out how to back out of there and get the Inventory page. I followed taeratrin's directions to "Disable Helpdesk Menus" but still am coming up on the Helpdesk when I login as anything but Built-in Admin. How can I login as a domain user and pop-up the Inventory page?

For question 1, there is a 'Disable Helpdesk Menus' option in Configuration->General Settings
