It seems that I have quite a few systems that have not been classified properly and I have a few systems labelled as "Other or unknown". How can I manually correct this? In my particular case, most of my "other" systems are VMWare VMs.

BTW, it would be nice to have larger pictograms (icons) showing the difference between a lunchbox, space-saving and desktop. Also show the distinction between what you consider a notebook versus a portable. It might be easier to show this in the manual with picture of sample hardware.

Every manufacturer uses its own denomination. Sometimes portable, sometimes notebook... Some even show up as docking stations which doesn't make my life easy either.

I also have towers, mini towers, desktops, other and unknown types of systems.

Good luck.

ok...

Can you not do something like you did for "Device Type" and provide a means for us to update it manually and offer an option to prevent lansweeper from updating the field automatically on the next sweep?

As far as I know you can't change this, the information is provided by WMI and is vendor specific.
