Engaged Sweeper III
Hi there,

the reports about unauthorized IE bars, BHOs, Extensions and ActiveX Controls some cases show little information. It would be nice, if LanSweeper could assist finding out what the specific CLSID is if there is no information in system for it. That could be an in report integrated result of a web service search (from for example http://www.systemlookup.com/) or simply a link to anything similar.

Example: In LanSweeper I only get reported an unauthorized IE BHO with CLSID {02478D38-C3F9-4efb-9B51-7695ECA05670} and there is nothing more information about it. A search at systemlookup.com states it is something from Yahoo! Messenger (http://www.systemlookup.com/CLSID/20643-Ycomp_dll_Ycomp_dll_yt_dll.html) and not till then with this information I know I won´t allow...

Another fine thing would be to be able to allow certain IE extensions from the website or have a list of found ones to select out of them (like it is with authorized software).

Regards, Jochen

We have added this feature to our customer wish list.

Authorization will be easier in Lansweeper 5.0, as all configuration console items will be moved to the web console. We expect to have a 5.0 beta release ready by October.

We will review whether this can be implemented for Lansweeper 5.0. This functionality was not yet on our road map.
