Which PC is online

I think a good extension is the possibility to see which PC is currently online. Like the icons in forums below the posts.

Maybe an alternate approach would work...

When you load a single computer detail screen, can IIS and or the client browser send a single ping packet, and display Online / Offline and enable / disable custom actions based on the status?

It sucks when you click "open C$ share" and then have to wait 60 seconds to timeout.

IMHO that pur too much strain on the network and cause to many heartbeats to traverse the network and cause way too much broadcast storms.
