You are experiencing issues with installing the Lansweeper IT Agent on Windows devices. The installation works interactively on one device but fails on others. The installer unpacks successfully but hangs at Lansweeper.IT.Agent.exe, and logs indicate the last action is executing open-windows-firewall.bat.

Cause 

The installation could fail due to the installer not being executed with full administrative rights, antivirus locking a file, or a previous installation in a corrupt state. If an old installtion is detected and the installer does not have sufficient privlleges to clean up the previous installation, the installation is aborted.

Troubleshooting

Check the Lansweeper_IT_Agent_Discovery_installer.log 

[2025-11-26 15:45:17] Cannot delete file C:/Program Files/Lansweeper IT Agent Discovery
[2025-11-26 15:45:17] Exiting with code 1

Solution

- Remove the previous installation using the .bat file provided in this link:

- Install the IT Agent again.
