Did you mean:

The error you are seeing at startup means the remote scan server cannot decrypt the stored scanning credentials. Lansweeper encrypts credentials with a key stored in an encryption.txt file. If that file is missing, corrupt, or does not match the main server’s key, the scan service cannot read the credentials and throws decryption errors.

Prerequisites

Before you start, make sure that:

  • You have administrative access to:
    • The Lansweeper web console.
    • The Windows servers running the Lansweeper scan service (main and remote).
  • You can access the Lansweeper installation folders on:
    • The main Lansweeper server.
    • Each affected remote scan server.
