Apparently we should be able to see the switch and port that an asset is connected to, but on our implementation, this is not showing. What do you actually need to do to enable this? We currently don't scan/monitor our switches, just our client IP ranges, so is this what we need to do? Will LS automatically populate the switch/port connection then?
Our switches are HP Procurve, which fully support LLDP (if this is what LS uses). LS is latest version.
I have asked LS support this directly, but not received an answer, and there's nothing I can see in the documentation.
Thanks

Posting the reply sent via email below, as an FYI for anyone else.
You need to scan your switches as separate assets using SNMP. If the switch provides port connection info, Lansweeper will then automatically link the switch port and the asset connected to said port. To scan your switches:
• Create one or more SNMP credentials in the Lansweeper web console under Configuration/Scanning Setup/Scanning Credentials, by hitting the Add New Credential button.
• Submit their IP ranges for IP Address Range Scanning, in the Configuration/Scanning Setup/Scanning Methods section of the Lansweeper web console.
• Map the devices’ SNMP credentials to their IP ranges, by hitting the green + button next to a range.
• Hit the Scan All Enabled IP Ranges Now button in the IP Address Range Scanning section of Configuration/Scanning Setup/Scanning Methods to initiate an immediate scan.

Mmmm. Never got the reply. Could have been picked up as spam I guess. I've now whitelisted @lansweeper.com. Can you send it again please.
