Asset Limit Up & Down

In the morning I have 1600 assets. 
After noon it balloons to over 3000 which is my limit and I'm getting license warnings.
Late afternoon it goes back to 1600 assets as if nothing was wrong!

Any ideas ?

Thank you. I exported the results during normal numbers and then when the numbers ballooned. I haven't had time to compare but I will be analyzing our scanning targets & exclusions as you suggest.
October 28 was the first day in a long time that the numbers remained normal.

Hello there!

To verify which assets are being added while scanning, we would recommend taking a look at the following built-in reports:

• Computer: New computers found in the last 24 hours
• Device: New devices found in the last 24 hours

If you are scanning unwanted assets, you have two options to make sure that certain assets are not scanned:

• Make sure that your scanning targets do not include the IP ranges containing the assets that you do not wish to see.
• Exclude the assets that you do not wish to scan. For example, you can also exclude assets by asset type, so you can specifically exclude certain types and still scan the entire IP range. More information can be found here: https://www.lansweeper.com/knowledgebase/excluding-assets-from-scanning/

If your asset count is decreasing, this could indicate that assets are being cleaned up by the automated database cleanups. More information can be found here: https://www.lansweeper.com/knowledgebase/performing-automated-database-cleanups/
