Hello!

I'm wondering if there's a way to have Lansweeper not scan VOIP devices. We have quite a few VOIP phones and they're all on the same DHCP scope as our computers are so they get hit by the IP range scan. Is there any way to have it not add them to our Assets? The 100 or so phones puts us over our license cap so I have to wait out the 30 seconds every day and then manually delete them from the asset list.

I usually delete them by searching for the manufacturer name or device name, since they're the only things with that name.

If there is a way to avoid scanning them, or automatically remove them from assets after each scan that would be awesome!

Thanks in advance.

In Lansweeper 5.0, your only options are to either:
- Remove these devices' IP ranges from IP Address Range Scanning.
- Create exclusions for specific IP addresses, under IP Address Range Scanning.

In Lansweeper 5.1, currently in beta, you could:
- Disable IP Address Range Scanning.
- Add the "wanted" assets to an asset group and delete the "unwanted" assets.
- Submit the group of "wanted" assets for Asset Group / Type scanning.

This might not be ideal however, as "new" assets in your IP ranges will be missed. A 5.1 beta installer was posted here: http://lansweeper.com/forum/yaf_postst7944_Lansweeper-5-1-0-7-beta.aspx

Put them behind a firewall, or setup a vlan on your swicth so your ethernet switch would not forward scan related packets to them or hide them behind a software Pbx like ozeki's Ozeki Phone System, secure voip software pbx
