I am trying to figure out a way to create a search or a report that will locate a specific desktop icon I have on machines. It's just a browser target and no software is installed.
Good talk... I figured it out.

Hi there!
try file scanning.
Scan file properties with custom file scanning - Lansweeper
Once the file is scanned and the data is in your database, you can report on it!

I thought you could only target Program Files, Program Files (x86) or the Windows directory?

To retrieve properties of files in any directory other than Program Files, Program Files (x86) or the Windows directory, you must submit the exact file path, including the drive.
For performance reasons, file scanning only queries specific file paths. Scanning all files within a folder or listing all files with a specific extension (extension based scanning) is not possible with file scanning
