So we are a 100% AWS shop no physical computers and our lansweeper install is used exclusively for ec2 instances. We have the AWS region scanning task set up and it is successfully pulling the ec2 asset list like we want. However, the nature of the cloud means some assets are static and some assets are ephemeral/short lived. There is a vendor tool that we use that spins up ec2 instances to crunch some data and then spins them down. However, we do not want lansweeper to attempt to inventory these specific assets that share the same root base name and we will not be installing agents on them.
How can we exclude them from scans like lansweeper cloud?
As an extra, we have 24 AWS accounts across multiple regions. We rely on having lansweeper scanning the AWS regions to identify assets that the agent either hasn't been installed on or the agent may be malfunctioning. So our specific requirement is that we need to both scan the region and exclude assets we don't want based on name/tag/vpc-id/etc. Deploying the agent only will not work for us because seeing how the asset gets identified (with agent vs without agent) tells us which assets we need to install the agent on.
