This is currently not possible. You'll indeed have to log in with a different user. The easiest way to do this would be using a different web browser, which you can refresh every time a change is made.
There isn't that big of a difference between a helpdesk user page and the pages someone gets when they have asset management access however. The only difference should be the custom header (which does have a preview) and the helpdesk news, which is also visible for people with asset management access using the helpdesk news widget.
