How to change the Asset Type

Hi,

Maybe it is too simple or it was already answered - sorry, but
how can I change an asset, e.g.from Windows to Linux when the field
is not editable?

You should be able to scan the asset as a Linux computer without issue, by following these instructions. As an asset's type cannot change from Windows to something else, a new asset will be generated. You can delete the old Windows asset if necessary, by following these instructions.

Hm, this is bad.
But RPC is not available and port 135 is closed after this asset was reinstalled with
Linux. There is no Windows anymore.

The asset type of Windows assets can't be changed. This is expected behavior. If port 135 is open on the affected asset and RPC is available, the asset type will automatically be set to Windows.
