Hi,

I have activated different targets. Most assets with are VMs. Those VMs are discovered twice. Once within its targets IP-range and once through VCenter discovery.

What would make more sense. Discover VMs via IP Range or through Vcenter? And how do I get rid of the double entries? Are they counted as 2 assets regarding licensing?

cheers, swsswr

Hello there!

Once you have excluded the asset type VMware Guest, Lansweeper will no longer add new assets of this asset type to the database. But you will still need to delete the existing VMware Guest assets to ensure they do not take up a license: https://community.lansweeper.com/t5/managing-assets/delete-assets/ta-p/64319

For more information regarding which assets count towards your license, you can refer here: https://community.lansweeper.com/t5/billing-related-questions/assets-that-count-toward-your-licensed...

Hello there!

In normal circumstances, if Lansweeper was able to scan the assets in full detail, these assets should merge. Alternatively, you could always exclude VMware Guest asset types if they are of little value to you: https://community.lansweeper.com/t5/cloud/exclude-assets-from-scans/ta-p/69593

@Obi_1_Cinobi Thanks. That was helpful. Regarding licensing. After applying the exlusion do they still count towards to total assets amount?
