Hello,

we have had some scanning problems after major network changes. While trying to figure out causes, I started wondering what does last tried actually mean?

For example I have one asset
Last Seen: 21/09/2017 10:00:35
Last tried: 08/01/2018 10:01:02

Still this asset is not in the scanning errors list.

Just an FYI: A computer's last tried date indicates when Lansweeper last tried to scan the machine. Last tried will only be displayed if the last attempt was unsuccessful. Last seen will indicate the last successful scan.

Hello TheITGuy,

problem solved. It was Active Directory related.

OU etc. were correct for AD scanning in Scanning targets, but still it would not scan. I removed AD scanning totally, added it back with same parameters and now it scans ok. Also if scan fails, it's written to scanning errors.

Thanks for suggestions!

My guess here , and I am only guessing.

The Lansweeper service scans computer name pulling it from Active directory at a specific time and never hits the device using its last ip in dns?

Do you scan ip ranges at specific intervals that would hit devices during the day when it on the network?

Or I scan our VPN range every 30 minutes to make sure I don't miss remote users during the day.
