Just curious. Since Lansweeper is so good at inventory and status, has there been any thought of adding the ability to scan printers and SNMP devices like switches?

Network printers are done on a user basis. One thing you could do to find printers which are network and visible to all users is check

HKU\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Devices
and
HKU\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\PrinterPorts

To determine the default (probably not set on your Default user) look at Device and DeviceOld under user\Printers

This is indeed an option, but we were thinking about some sort of snmp scan.

We are investigating this feature, but we haven't found a way yet to do this without network overhead and be sure that we find all devices.
