Summary

Description

The issue involves missing uptime information for certain assets after a successful network scan. Despite the assets being operational, the Uptime tab does not display any (or incorrect) data.

Cause

The primary cause of the missing uptime information may stem from the Windows Event Log service not logging the necessary events that Lansweeper relies on to track uptime. Specifically, if the Event Log service is not active or fails to log startup and shutdown events correctly, Lansweeper will not be able to display accurate uptime data.

Solution

  1. Ensure the Event Log service is active on the affected assets to log the necessary uptime events.
  2. Check the Windows Event Viewer for the required Event IDs to confirm that the uptime data is being captured correctly. To provide context, Lansweeper looks for the following Windows Event Log IDs to determine power-off and power-up events:
    1. 6005: The Event Log service was started (indicates system startup)
    2. 6006: The Event Log service was stopped (indicates system shutdown)
    3. 6008: The previous shutdown was unexpected
