Engaged Sweeper II

I’ve recently moved my Lansweeper on-prem server to a location where it can scan the entire environment. It’s working well for most devices, but I’m still running into issues scanning things like mobile phones, cameras, Raspberry Pi’s, and other IoT devices — they don’t show up reliably.

My plan is to set up the Lansweeper Discovery Hub to cover these devices and link it to the on-prem server.
However, I’m not 100% sure about the best practice:

  • Do I need to manually configure the IP ranges with credentials for these IoT/mobile devices, or can I just let the Discovery Hub auto-discover them?

  • When setting up the Discovery Hub, should I install only the OT discovery, or do I need both OT and IT modules?

Do I still need to configure the IT scans on the hub or will it just take them over from the on-prem?

OT has intergation with LS on-prem.

Does this also count for the iot devices? like the phoens, camera's and rasperry pi's

I think you have to see:

  1. Intune to scanning phones.
  2. SNMP for Cameras.

The phones are not intune devices tho they are just normal phones connected to the wifi and on the site with the hub alone I could see atleast what kind of phone and other information etc.

We have cisco phones and they are detected via SIP and via SNMP.

You need L2-network between OT-scanner and assets for best view of OT devices.

Not sure if i can put the OT scanner in the same VLAN as the OT devices (Also OT devices kinda are everywhere not very polished you see)
