Disabling fields in assets

We do not use the Contact and Building fields, only the location.  Is it possible to disable these fields so that our techs cannot enter information in these fields?  No matter how many times we tell them this, they still put info in there.  I don't want to have to recreate my reports.  Thanks so much!!

Hello there!

There is no feature to lock specific fields for editing or to hide specific fields from the asset view. If your engineers can edit assets, they can edit all fields on the asset page. When it comes to reporting, you could opt to not display these fields in your reports.
