DNS Name being over written with (IP).ec2.internal

Good morning folks.  

Since moving our Lansweeper Scan Server to AWS, I've been noticing that the DNS names for some VM's and other devices being changed to and IP with the extension of .ec2.interna. (ip-10-200-1-73.ec2.internal).  Has anyone else seen this with on-prem devices?

We have not seen this so far. It's interesting to hear, though, since this could have an impact on scanning and IP locations. It seems that AWS is adding this extension. If you can find more information from AWS on this we are certainly interested in reviewing that.
