Engaged Sweeper

We are having sporadic issue as we are trialing this software for a large scale college environment.  The IT Agent install does seem to work, especially silently as is a requirement for us.  Once installed, it does show up on our site, in the Scan > Discovery Systems section.  The status shows enabled, up, and seems to be successful.

The issue is these device will never show up in the Asset Inventory section of Lansweeper.  I saw in the FAQs it may take up to 15 minutes, but we've had devices not show up all day.  They do seem to eventually show up the next day, but my understanding is they should install the Agent and immediately kick off an inventory scan as part of that install, showing up in the site pretty quickly after.  Out of the 10 or so trys so far, 2 devices did exactly that and showed up quickly.  The rest (same OS, network, etc) show the Agent as installed, but never inventory.  We come in a day later and they eventually showed up. Is this normal behavior?

Hi,

What you’re describing can happen under some circumstances, and it isn’t always a sign that something is broken. Based on how Lansweeper IT Agent works,

a short delay is normal — but a delay lasting many hours usually indicates that the agent’s discovery upload cycle is not completing immediately

Our tech support team should be able to assist you with this.  Please open a ticket in our support portal.

Make sure to add screenshots and the GatherLogs output file so our SME's can start investigating the issue straight away.
