We have IP phones that we would like to add as assets; however, they exist on a separate voice network controlled by our service provider. The phones obtain an IP address from DHCP, but this resides on a router controlled by the service provider and we have no access to it and the voice subnets are not routed on our network - all voice traffic is handled at L2. As a result, we can't ping (or scan) the phones. Their MAC addresses are seen in the FDB of the switches they connect to, though, so if it were possible to scan by MAC we may be able to see them.

Can Lansweeper be configured to scan by MAC address?

If you wish to scan a non-Windows device a connection via IP address is required unfortunately. If the device is not pingable it will not be scannable.

If IP phone supports SNMP then LS can show MAC and connection to switch.
