We have a number of HP Thin Client Devices that run Windows XP Embedded. They come up with a lot of "provider load failure" errors when scanned. I have checked the WMI service and its running. Is there anything else I can try to get this working?
No info listed at all. I'll have a dig around the HP website and see if I can find the WMI addon. The WMI service is started on the thin client. When I try a test connection action I get the following provider errors:
DNS test ----------------------------------------------- Is this the correct remote IP: 172.31.1.115 If not, please check for DNS problems
\root\cimv2 Remote WMI access test FAILED Provider load failure
Remote WMI test ----------------------------------------------- \root\cimv2 Remote WMI access test FAILED Provider load failure
Remote Registry test using WMI ----------------------------------------------- \root\default Remote WMI access test FAILED Not found
Okies so is this an expected behaviour? The computer's information page is just filled with about 50 entries with this error and doesn't display any other details (e.g. disk information, os, memory, active directory info, etc.)
A provider load failure is a normal error for scanned items that are not available on the thin client (for example cdrom where there is no cd drive installed)
