Engaged Sweeper

Hello, not really seeing anything this specific on the forums before posting, so apologies if this is duplicated.

I am in need of something that shows the login to Windows from a specific user. Example: User logs into Windows machine, logs time captured. Locks computer, logs time captured locked. Again, user logs into windows, log time captured.

Thank you in advance!

Hello @sfrankhouser

This is a great, and common, question.

To start with, Lansweeper is not a monitoring tool. So, it doesn't watch and know when a user logs in and out -- this is because Lansweeper will only scan the asset based on the configured scanning schedule in the scan target(s).

But there is a work around for this, but it requires a script/application. Lansweeper provides a tool called LsPush that is a command driven "application". LsPush can be triggered via a login script or GPO, this way each login will rescan the asset and provide you the currently logged in user details.

KB article about LsPush: Introduction to the LsPush scanning agent for Windows (lansweeper.com)

I hope this helps you find the user information you wish to track.
