We have docks that Lansweeper can read via WMI and it stores the MAC address and associates that dock to a computer which is great! But is there a way I can add this asset and so we can track it since some get rarely used and don't get scanned by LS? I know I can add the asset but when I try to put the MAC in LS will tell me that MAC is already in use and not let me have the MAC associated to the dock (unless I use custom fields.) Is there a way to tell LS to link the dock it has scanned to an asset? We are using on prem Lansweeper.

Ok, but can I do anything to ask Lansweeper to ignore the duplicate MAC or simply not add the dock it's scanning so I can just manually control the dock as an asset?

Dear,
Scanning docking stations properly and creating assets for them has been requested by other users as well.
We have an internal feature request for this in place and will link your request to it to provide this additional weight.
At this moment, it is unfortunately not decided yet when this will be implemented.
