I'm seeing duplicates in All System tabs but it does not shows as "duplicate conflicts".
One entry I believe it's due to the network scan, and the other entry agent-based.

How to delete these duplicates?

I need to install the IT Agent discovery in 2500 devices and this will duplicate all of them.

Hi,

Are you using Network discovery or on-prem classic with the deployment of the IT agent. We ask because on-prem classic does not have a reconciliation engine right now and paired with Network discovery and or IT agent will cause duplicates.

  1. Go to Assets ▸ All Assets.
  2. Search for the duplicate hostname or serial.
  3. Select the duplicate asset
  4. Click the delete button on the top

Hi,

Lansweeper is designed to minimize duplicate asset entries automatically, even when you mix Network Discovery and IT Agent Discovery scans using our reconciliation engine.

Lansweeper detects and associates assets by their MAC address and other unique identifiers (like serial number or hostname).

When both Network Discovery and an IT Agent report the same device, Lansweeper compares these identifiers and merges the data into a single, unified asset record rather than creating duplicates. This duplicate-prevention mechanism is built into the platform.

If assets are being duplicated it is most likely due to the fact that one of the scans is not collecting all the information, which at the moment I would presume the agentless scan could be the culprit if you are not meeting the requirements with credentials on the scanning action. With the agent scanning locally it normally collects all the detailed information.

That was the case, we are using on-premises scanning with IT agent. Thanks

I'm using Network Discovery along with the deployment of the IT Agent Discovery.
Since we have around 2,500 devices, I'm concerned this might result in duplicate entries.
Is there a way to prevent duplication, or a recommended method to remove all duplicates at once?
