what does the number mean next to agent name?

when i assign a ticket to someone, there is a number next to agent name. it does not represent number of assigned tickets. what does it mean. ((screenshot attached)

This number should represent the number of assigned tickets to the agent in question, but it will take into account all tickets with a status different from "closed".
