Selecting a hosting region determines where your Lansweeper inventory data is primarily stored and processed. This decision is about data residency and compliance, not product differences. Review the information below before creating your Site.

Before you choose a region

  • No migration between regions: You cannot move an existing Site between regions. To change regions, create a new Site in the desired region and reconfigure your setup.

  • Feature-related data transit: Some capabilities (for example, Credential-free Device Recognition) are hosted in Europe and may result in limited, controlled data transit outside your selected region.

  • Limited cross-region replication: Certain tenant-related metadata may be replicated across regions to support reliable service operation.

  • Same product, same experience: Region choice does not unlock unique features; it’s primarily about data residency and compliance preferences.

Which region is right for me?

Choose U.S. East (Ohio) if any of the following apply:

  • You must meet U.S. data residency requirements (federal, state, or industry) that require your Lansweeper inventory data to be stored/hosted in the U.S.

  • Your compliance, legal, or contractual obligations specify U.S.-hosted services or U.S.-based data handling.

Choose a Europe-hosted Site if any of the following apply:

  • You do not have a U.S. residency requirement and prefer your inventory data to reside in Europe.

  • Your organization’s governance or customer commitments favor EU/Europe-hosted services.

What stays the same across regions

Core capabilities and user experience are the same; the U.S. instance is not a different product.

For specific features and platform operations, some data may transit or replicate across regions under Lansweeper’s data protection controls.
